About the Facilitator:
Fereshteh (Fery) – Cake Topper Artist & Creative Entrepreneur in Airdrie, Alberta
My name is Fereshteh (Fery), and I’m a passionate Cake Topper creator based in Airdrie, Alberta. I moved to Airdrie about four years ago after living in Toronto for several years. Since immigrating to Canada in 2013, I’ve been on a journey of growth, creativity, and resilience—working hard to build a stable and meaningful life in my new home.
My career path has been anything but linear, and I’m proud of the many hats I’ve worn along the way. I began my Canadian journey in customer service, working at Winners, then went on to run a home childcare business. Over time, I took on many different roles—from baking and cooking to elder companionship, driving children, hairstyling, alterations, and more—always finding joy in helping others and being resourceful.
Eventually, I found my passion in cake decorating while working at Baskin Robbins for several years. After moving to Alberta during the pandemic, like many, I faced challenges with reconnecting to the job market. Encouraged by my former manager, I began creating custom cake toppers from home—and that’s when a new chapter began.
Today, I enjoy turning simple materials into memorable keepsakes for cakes and celebrations. Whether it’s a personal hobby or a small business venture, creating cake toppers allows me to express my artistic side and bring a little joy to others.
Before immigrating, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and explored various fields—from teaching to managing a mushroom farm. Each experience has added a unique layer to who I am today: creative, adaptive, and always eager to learn.
I also love sharing what I learn with others—whether it's creative skills, life lessons, or business tips. Teaching and helping others grow is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
