From Coulee to Coffee Shop

From Coulee to Coffee Shop In-Person

Explore how place shapes story in a yearlong series of monthly creative writing workshops with writer and poet Vivian Hansen.

Inspired by Thomas Willock’s idea that a coulee embodies community, memory, and experience, these sessions will help you connect landscape to character, plot, and voice. Through guided reading, writing, discussion, and feedback, you’ll explore how prairie coulees in and around Airdrie influence history, imagination, and personal narrative. Suitable for beginners to experienced writers, these workshops support poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Attend every month if possible, or join when you can. Register for each session individually.
