DIY Felt Stories and Fingerplays In-Person
Bring favourite nursery rhymes and action songs to life! Families will create a take-home flannel board storytelling kit featuring a classic rhyme or song. These simple, reusable kits encourage children to sing, count, retell stories, and build early literacy skills through play. Families will leave with everything they need to continue the fun at home.
Families will:
- Discover how songs and rhymes support early literacy..
- Create a reusable storytelling resource.
- Build confidence using fingerplays and flannel stories at home.
This is a caregiver-and-child program designed to encourage creativity and shared learning. As participants will be using hot glue guns and sharp scissors, caregivers are required to remain with their child and actively assist them throughout the program. For everyone's safety, children cannot be left unattended.
