Ancient Indian Art Mandala Workshop with Suparna Ghosh

Ancient Indian Art Mandala Workshop with Suparna Ghosh In-Person

A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Asian cultures. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness.

This Mandala Art Workshop, includes learning about this art form through creation, some stories related to India and its culture and music.

About the facilitator:

I’m Suparna Ghosh, a passionate visual artist and dedicated teacher of Indian classical art forms. Originally from Kolkata — often called the cultural capital of India — I’ve been deeply connected to the world of art since my early years. Painting has always been my creative language, and as a trained artist, I find immense joy in sharing that passion with others.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching children in schools and group settings, helping them explore their creativity while also building a foundation in classical techniques. I’ve also participated in and organized various art workshops and events in Uruguay (South America) that brought together both children and adults, creating inclusive spaces to celebrate artistic expression. I have also created commissioned pieces for various social organizations in South America and in Canada.

As a loving mother of two wonderful boys, I’m constantly inspired by the world around me. I love learning from different cultures and communities, and I believe that this openness not only enriches my personal growth but also deepens my artistic journey and helps spread the same towards my children as well as the community I live in.
