Patricia Atchison - Read, Create, Celebrate! A Local Author Series for Picture Book Month In-Person
What Makes Me Special?
"Sometimes we are unsure what is so great about ourselves. As children, we can be unsure who we are and why we are special. This book explores the idea of looking for our differences between others as good qualities and exciting discoveries!! Nikku the narwhal is upset because he does not know what is special about himself. His friends, Pitsi the penguin and Paunna the polar bear try to help Nikku on his quest to find out what makes him special by going on an adventure in the great wise Arctic Ocean!"
Recommended for ages 6–10. Younger children (ages 4–5) are welcome with a helpful grown-up!
Join us for a magical afternoon with Mackenzie, who will read one of her picture books and guide young readers through a fun, hands-on activity inspired by the story. It's a perfect way for families to enjoy quality time together, meet the talented storytellers in our community, and celebrate the joy of reading.
