Join us as we celebrate a new chapter for our community! The Library is thrilled to welcome you to the Grand Opening of the Inspire Facility, hosted in collaboration with the City of Airdrie.

Whether you’re a long-time library supporter or discovering us for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to explore all that the new Inspire Facility has to offer. Come connect with your community, experience the joy of learning, and help us kick off this exciting new chapter together.

 

This family-friendly celebration will be packed with excitement, creativity, and discovery.

  • Walk up, share a thought, and leave with your personalized poem in hand from talented poets Richard Harrison, Megan Nega, and Juleta Severson.

Love Letters to the Library

  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Pen a heartfelt message about what the library means to you, then hide it in a book for someone else to find.

Shelfie Scavenger Hunt

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Grab a map and explore the library on a selfie adventure! Stop at key spots, snap a pic, and share your journey with our hashtag. Scan QR codes along the way to upload and join the fun.

Storybook Stars

  • 11:30 a.m.-Noon. Join our favorite princess, Belle, for a magical Fairy Tale Storytime!
  • 12:30-1 p.m. Enjoy silly adventures with Elephant and Piggie at storytime!
  • 2-2:30 p.m. Gear up for a heroic storytime with a real firefighter!
  • Don’t forget to grab an Elephant and Piggie scavenger hunt and search for our favourite duo!

Play Space

Face Painting

  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Transform into your favorite character, animal, or magical creature! Our talented face painters will bring color, sparkle, and smiles to every little face.

Qualico Communities Create Space 1

360 Photography

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Step inside the moment! Our 360° photography with Cosmo Photo Booth lets you capture every angle, creating a fully immersive photo you can explore and share

The Lounge

Science, Shake, and Slime!

  • 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. & 12-12: 30 p.m. Mad Scientist! Get ready for wacky experiments and gooey, fizzing fun! Our Mad Scientist will lead hands-on adventures that spark curiosity and lots of laughs
  • 1-1: 45 p.m. Dance Party! with Ambition Performing Arts
  • 2:30-4 p.m. Slime Spectacular!  Squish, stretch, and squelch your way through a slime-filled adventure! Make your own gooey creations and discover all the slimy fun waiting for you

FortisAlberta Program Room

Indigenous Storytelling, Singing, and Drumming with  Cheryle Chagnon-Greyeyes

  • 11-11:30 a.m. & 2-2:30 p.m. Experience the rich traditions of Indigenous culture through storytelling, song, and the rhythmic beats of drumming.
